AceShowbiz - Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is apologetic after the team's disappointing performance in Super Bowl 2025. Hours after the game, he returned to social media with a heartfelt message.
"Appreciate all the love and support from #ChiefsKingdom," he began by thanking fans before acknowledging his own shortcomings, "I let y'all down today. I'll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it."
During a post-game press conference, Mahomes further emphasized his accountability, blaming his subpar play for the team's loss. "I didn't think I played to my standard," he said. "I have to get better at things, and they kind of showed today on the biggest stage."
Despite the setbacks, Mahomes remained optimistic, vowing to learn from the defeat. "I have to learn from that and have to try to be better at the next opportunity I hopefully get," he said.
The Chiefs' Super Bowl aspirations were crushed in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9, as the Philadelphia Eagles dominated them with a 40-22 victory. The Chiefs failed to score any points in the first half and struggled to keep pace with the Eagles throughout the game.
Mahomes, supported by his wife, Brittany, and their three children, Sterling, Bronze, and Golden, promised that the team would bounce back. "We will be back," he wrote in his apology message.
