AceShowbiz - Mark Wahlberg, known for his dedication to his roles, went the extra mile on the set of his latest film, "Flight Risk." The 53-year-old actor immersed himself so deeply into his character - a hitman posing as a pilot - that he inadvertently distanced himself from his castmates.
In an interview with People Magazine, Wahlberg recalled staying in character throughout the shoot. "I was locked into the part the whole time," he explained. "If we weren't shooting, I was either off by myself or just sitting alone in my dressing room."
This unconventional approach came at a cost, however. Wahlberg's commitment to staying in character meant he was often isolated and not very engaging with his fellow cast members when the cameras weren't rolling.
"I was constantly picking at, poking, and prodding my castmates," he said. "I was like the guy in the back of the plane who was constantly giving them a hard time."
The actor, who previously played an antagonist in 1996's 'Fear,' acknowledged his excessive character immersion might have made his co-stars uncomfortable. "I apologized at the end because I wasn't very engaging outside of shooting," he stated. "I was just in that headspace."
Usually playing the good guys in his previous movies, Wahlberg revealed that he had decided to play the villain in "Flight Risk" after reading the script, without knowing which role the director had in mind for him.
"Flight Risk" is now playing in theaters.
