AceShowbiz - Amid backlash after revealing her late husband Stephen "tWitch" boss' drug addiction, Allison Holker defends her decision to share her late husband's addiction and childhood trauma in interview and in her upcoming memoir, "This Far."
Holker has ignited controversy after telling People magazine she discovered a "cornucopia" of drugs, including mushrooms and pills, hidden in Boss' closet after his death by suicide in 'ber 2022. She also stated that she read his journal entries, which hinted at his alleged abuse by a male figure as a child.
As the interview took place ahead of her memoir release, she's expected to reveal more about her late husband's struggles in her book. This brought a wave of criticisms accusing her of exploiting his pain and tarnishing his legacy.
Fitness trainer Kelly Gibson, a former colleague of Boss and Holker, expressed disappointment, stating that he felt it was unnecessary to "tear apart [his] name." In response to the backlash, Holker claimed her intention was to help people feel more comfortable seeking help for addiction and mental health issues.
"This whole thing made me sad. He's gone. Why tear apart his name?" Gibson commented on Instagram. "I was fully supportive about you moving [on] and being happy but this paycheck was not worth disgracing his name."
Holker - who's also a friend of Gibson - replied, "I'll always love you. Just trying to help people feel safe to ask for help and support."
Holker also faced allegations from Boss' cousin, Darielle, who claims she forced Boss' family to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) just to attend his funeral. In a more damning accusation, Darielle further accused Holker of barring his family from seeing their children.
Holker hasn't responded to the claims made by tWitch's family. Meanwhile, Holker's memoir is set to be released on February 4.
