AceShowbiz - Wedding bells are set to ring for "General Hospital" star Steve Burton as he recently announced his engagement to girlfriend Michelle Lundstrom. On January 4, Burton took to Instagram to share the joyous news, accompanied by a series of heartfelt photos capturing the moment he got down on one knee.
"Engaged 1/3/25. â¤ï¸ðŸ’♾ï¸," the 54-year-old actor wrote alongside the slideshow, soundtracked by Peter Cetera's "Glory of Love." Burton also shared a quote from Jeremiah 29:11, emphasizing his hopeful outlook on the future.
Lundstrom, 43, is a cook and content creator who gained recognition by competing on Season 2 of Netflix's "Barbecue Showdown".
The couple chose to keep their relationship fairly private until Burton confirmed they were dating in May 2024. Their romance quickly became a fan favorite as they made their red carpet debut at the Daytime Emmy Awards a month later.
"Our first red carpet together," Lundstrom captioned an Instagram post from that glamorous night. "It was a dream of a night from beginning to end."
Burton, previously married to Sheree Gustin for 23 years, shares three children with her: daughters Makena and Brooklyn, and son Jack. His first marriage ended amid drama worthy of the soap operas, he starred in, when in May 2022 they announced their separation, only to reveal that Gustin was expecting a child with another man. Despite the public split, Burton has remained focused on co-parenting his children.
As 2025 began, Lundstrom took to Instagram to reflect on the past year with her now-fiancé. "Some years you wish you could just fast forward & forget," she wrote. "Then one day you're living life differently…welcoming big changes, feeling content & full of LOVE. I hope to remember the memories from this last year forevaaaa and for that I'm grateful."
The engagement news sent waves of excitement through the "General Hospital" community, with many of Burton's costars offering their congratulations. "Steve and Michelle, I wish you both a long, loving, and fruitful life together! Congratulations!" shared Rick Hearst while Finola Hughes added, "Congratulations! I wish you both all the happiness in the future, you are a wonderful couple! Congratulations, Michelle!"
With the engagement now public, fans are eagerly awaiting more updates on the couple's journey to the altar. Stay tuned for this real-life love story that's just as captivating as the most enthralling soap opera drama.
