The Wanted singer Max George reached out to his fans as he plans a doctor visit due to concerns about his newly-fitted heart device after undergoing heart surgery.

AceShowbiz - Max George, 36, has been navigating a challenging health journey after being diagnosed with an undetermined heart condition that required a surgery to have a pacemaker fitted earlier this month. The surgery followed a hospital stay, culminating in his discharge on Christmas Day. However, his experience has been far from straightforward.

Taking to Instagram, Max revealed he has been experiencing a strange "flicking feeling" in his chest, a symptom that has sparked concerns. He reached out to his followers for insights, asking, "I'm in the hospital tomorrow for another check-up because I've been getting this flicking feeling on the left side of my chest. I'm actually getting it now. Has anyone experienced this?"

Throughout his ordeal, Max has remained active in updating his fans. He recently shared that he was able to take his first steps outside since the surgery, posting a photo on a night-time dog walk with his beloved pitbull, Albert. Alongside the photo, he shared an image of his Apple Watch indicating his heart rate at a stable 85 bpm.

In another heartfelt post, he reflected on his health journey, discussing past struggles with alcoholism. Max clarified, "Alcohol wasn't a factor in my condition. I gave up drinking four-and-a-half years ago after doctors raised concerns about my liver."

The surgery itself was filled with complications, including collapsed veins where the pacemaker wires were intended to go. Despite these challenges, Max praised the NHS staff for their exceptional care, saying, "They put my pacemaker under a very special tattoo of mine. I owe everything to them." The tattoo in question was a tribute to his late bandmate Tom Parker who died of terminal cancer.

Beyond his health battles, Max was seen reuniting with his girlfriend, Maisie Smith, to celebrate Christmas with loved ones. His fans have been a pillar of support, flooding his social media posts with messages of encouragement and speedy recovery wishes. One fan wrote, "Pacemakers are game changers ❤️ I'm so glad you're doing better. You'll just keep getting stronger now. Happy New Year ❤️"

While he's not completely out of the woods yet, with upcoming tests related to his lungs, Max's spirit remains unbroken. He's hopeful that the pacemaker will enable a return to normalcy, saying, "Whatever I get, I've got to get on with it. We're hoping pacemaker, a pacemaker is good."

Max George's journey continues to be one of resilience and community support, illuminating the strength found in facing health adversities with openness and a positive outlook.
