The Wanted's Max George faced a life-threatening heart condition, but with bravery and resilience, he returned to life with a new pacemaker and an inspiring story

AceShowbiz - Max George, a member of the boy band The Wanted, prepared for the worst during his health crisis. He revealed the chilling moment he penned a will while lying in a hospital bed, convinced he was "going to die."

The 36-year-old had been diagnosed with a heart condition, leading to an emergency surgery during which he had a pacemaker fitted to keep his heart beating regularly.

In a candid interview with The Sun, George described the overwhelming fear he felt when doctors discovered the irregularity in his heart. "I kept thinking in my head, 'Well, what if the top half stops working overnight?' " he said, highlighting his concerns about leaving behind his family and girlfriend, actress Maisie Smith.

On December 13, George's heart rate and blood pressure plummeted, leading him to a point where he felt "like I was dying." The severity of his condition prompted him to contact a doctor friend for guidance, who advised him to seek further care.

During the surgery, some of George's veins collapsed, which caused another issue, but thankfully his doctors were able to complete the procedure successfully.

Despite the harrowing experience, George expressed gratitude for his recovery, describing his pacemaker as "the best Christmas present." He also acknowledged the support he received from family, friends, and fans throughout his ordeal.

In a message of strength and resilience, George encouraged others facing similar challenges. "When you get told that [you have a serious condition], you really realize what your responsibilities are," he said. "Time to rest and then tackle life full on once again."
