One month later, Kate Middleton shocked many after revealing her health issue. In a video message, the Princess of Wales candidly shared that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer. Similarly, the type of cancer was not disclosed.

Beyonce Knowles became the talk of the town due to her music genre shift from R&B to country. In February, she debuted "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages" during the Super Bowl LVIII before launching "Cowboy Carter" in March.

The superstar's first country album, which is the second installment in her "Renaissance" trilogy, features collaborations with country music legends, including Dolly Parton, and country music rising stars like Shaboozey. Aside from the set, the "All Too Well" hitmaker had a busy schedule throughout the year as she was hitting the road for her "Eras Tour", which kicked off in March 2023. She ended the tour, which became the highest-grossing tour of all time and the first to earn over $1 billion in revenue, on December 8.

Kendrick Lamar, who has been beefing with friend-turned-foe Drake for more than one decade, revived the tension between them by dissing his rival on Future and Metro Boomin's "Like That", which was launched in March. It prompted them to diss one another on several songs before K.Dot dropped "Not Like Us" in May.

Amid the feud, K.Dot was deemed the winner by many. In September, the spitter was announced as the headliner of the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show, making many believe that he will perform the song live. Two months later, his rival Drizzy filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group and Spotify over the hit diss track.

In the wake of the arrest, the music mogul's attorney called it an unjust prosecution of an "imperfect person" who is "not a criminal." As of the end of 2024, the rapper remains incarcerated at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center after his requests for bail were denied. If he is convicted of all charges, he may be facing a life sentence.

The music industry lost one of its talented artists on October 16. Liam Payne took his last breath after falling from a third floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires. The heartbreaking news shocked many, especially those close to the former One Direction singer.

The "Strip That Down" singer was laid to rest at St. Mary's Church in Amersham, England on November 20.
