AceShowbiz - Comedian Nikki Glaser's 2025 Golden Globe Awards hosting gig is just around the corner, and it will mark a historic milestone as she becomes the first woman to host the ceremony solo. However, this high-profile gig didn't come without some personal sacrifices. Originally set to undergo a brow lift in January 2025, Glaser had to reschedule her plans upon receiving the hosting offer.
In an interview with CBS, the 40-year-old comedian revealed, "For January 2025, I was going to possibly have, like, a brow lift or some kind of, like, really invasive surgery that I've been, you know, looking into getting."
However, her agents called with the opportunity of a lifetime and asked, "So, this operation, is there any way you could push it 'til maybe the second week of January?" Without hesitation, Glaser chose to delay her surgery in order to host the event.
Glaser, also a nominee this year for her 2024 comedy special "Someday You'll Die," has been diligently preparing for the big night. She's writing parts of her monologue, testing jokes at comedy clubs, and working closely with a team that includes writers Sean O'Conner, Jessica Dweck, and her boyfriend, Chris Convy.
"I'm gonna nail it," she confidently stated. "Maybe I won't nail it in some people's eyes, but I will have nailed it in my eyes because I have set up a system leading up to it that I couldn't possibly work harder on it."
The upcoming Golden Globes ceremony will be held on January 5, 2025, honoring achievements in film and television from the past year. Glaser's enthusiasm is palpable, yet she admits to feeling nervous. Nonetheless, she thrives on anxiety, claiming, "I like feeling like, 'Oh, what's gonna happen?' I like that feeling. I kill it when I'm anxious."
Known for hosting the reality dating series "FBoy Island" and her stand-up comedy, Glaser rose to an unprecedented fame following her performance during the 2024 Netflix roast of Tom Brady. "I ascended in my career more than I ever have, overnight," she told Vanity Fair. "Outside of Will Smith slapping me, I don't think I'll get this much attention as a comedian in my life."
As the 2025 Golden Globes approach, fans eagerly anticipate what surprises Glaser's solo hosting debut will bring. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, airing from 8:00 to 11:00 PM ET (5:00 to 8:00 PM PT). With her unique blend of courage and comedy, Nikki Glaser is set to make this year's Golden Globes an unforgettable event.
