AceShowbiz - Charlie Puth has had something to say about his recent statement. The "One Call Away" singer decided to clarify his own claim about his new album after leaving his fans concerned over the quality of the record.
On Monday, December 23, the 33-year-old singer-songwriter made use of Instagram Stories to set the record straight about his own remark. Over a black screen, he wrote, "Guys, it was a joke."
Charlie went on to say, "I'm releasing this album because I'm really excited with what I've been working on..." He further stressed, "No one is forcing me," adding a laughing face with tears of joy emoji.
The clarification came after Charlie spilled when he will be releasing his new music. In a video that made its rounds on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday, December 22, it could be seen that he was standing on a stage when he received a question about his fourth studio album. The question read, "When will you release your next album?"
In response, Charlie simply said, "At the top of next year." The "We Don't Talk Anymore" singer went on to explain, "So not five years, not four years, next year. Contractually obligated to release something next year, so."
While some of the "Attention" singer's fans were excited following the revelation, others were concerned about the quality of his fourth studio album. In the replies section, one in particular argued, "Seems sad to be contractually obligated to release something. It should be set up to release when inspiration hits. This would ensure better music overall."
Another stated, "It's gonna have 0 hits i fear." A third wrote, "Hope that doesn't mess up the quality at some point." A fourth asked, "He always talks about making music like it's a chore. What's the point of all his technical skill if he possesses no passion?" A fifth added, "It may flop horribly."
