AceShowbiz - DDG has responded to backlash over his lavish birthday gift for his son Halo's birthday. Not taking any advice from strangers, the father of one has clapped back at the critics, telling them to "work harder."

The rapper seemingly accused the critics of jealousy after he purchased a Ferrari for his one-year-old son. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, he told the haters, "n***a mad cuz they son playin hot wheels and mines playin wit ferrari's & M's. Just work harder gang."

Meanwhile, fellow hip-hop star Soulja Boy has weighed in on DDG's choice of birthday present for his son. Draco, who is also a father to a son, gave a sensible advice in an interview with TMZ that was published on Monday, December 23.

"When it comes to kids... You know it's your kids, you know what I'm saying, you can't tell nobody, you know how to treat their kids or what to spend on their kids," he cautiously began. "But my son ain't get no damn Ferrari at one year old."

Getting real, the "Soulja Girl" emcee continued, "I feel like a house or something cool like buying a house, he has something to grow up to, but a car you can't drive there right now. You know what I'm saying."

When the interviewer suggested that the Ferrari DDG bought for his son "could be an investment strategy," Soulja replied, "That's gonna depreciate in 16 years, but shout out... But when you got kids and it's your first time having kids, you just wanna spoil them and show them the world so I get it though."

On what gift a parent should buy their one-year-old kid, Draco shared, "You gotta get them any Ferrari that they can really ride in, like the toy Ferrari cybertro. You gotta give them the little baby toy, gotta start them off."

DDG was slammed by Internet users after he showed off the red Ferrari that he purchased for his son's first birthday on Sunday. While the 27-year-old looked proud to present the lavish gift to his son, not everyone can fathom his intention with the car. "so you basically bought yourself a new car on the baby bday," someone mocked him. Another weighed in, "I can understand a toy Ferrari or something he can actually ride in but come on man."
