AceShowbiz - In the world of Hollywood and social media, what starts as a harmless post can spiral into a storm of controversy. This is precisely what happened when Shameik Moore's artistic intentions clashed with Laura Harrier's personal boundaries.
Moore, known for voicing Miles Morales in Sony's "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", recently found himself at the center of social media backlash after posting an old video with actress Laura Harrier. The video, captioned "coming soon," featured the two posing together, which led fans to speculate a romantic link between them.
However, Harrier, best known for her role as Liz Allan in Marvel's "Spider-Man: Homecoming," was not amused, especially given her engagement. Taking to TikTok, Harrier shared her frustration, stating, "I keep seeing these videos. It's really annoying because I'm literally engaged." She added, "I get it - Hollywood loves PR stunts, people love attention - but this is crossing a line."
The incident did not end there. Harrier revealed she directly contacted Moore to remove the post, expressing her discomfort and labeling his actions as disrespectful. 'We're not close. I texted him, 'Hey, can you take this down? I'm getting married, and I don't appreciate the insinuation that there's something going on.' You're a f***ing weirdo," she vented.
Moore responded to the controversy by issuing an apology and clarifying his intentions. He stated, "This is all a misunderstanding, unfortunately, it's public. I mean no harm. I have no ill intent. You know it's about art for me, the video had the aesthetic of the song. That's it, it wasn't insinuating a relationship."
To defuse the situation and avoid further controversy, Moore has deleted the controversial post. For now, he remains scheduled to return as the voice of Miles Morales in the upcoming "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse."
Neither Marvel nor Disney has commented on the incident. With new Spider-Man films featuring Tom Holland and Shameik Moore slated for 2025 and 2026 releases, only time will tell how these events will impact Moore's career trajectory.
