Asa Germann, known for his roles in 'The Boys' and 'Gen V', has been added to the cast for the upcoming seventh installment of the slasher film franchise.

AceShowbiz - The cast of "Scream 7" a.k.a. "Scream VII" continues to expand with the addition of Asa Germann, a breakout star from Prime Video's "Gen V". Known for his compelling portrayal of Sam Riordan, a super-strong "supe" test subject grappling with trauma, Germann's new role is shrouded in mystery, causing fans to speculate whether he'll be a potential Ghostface victim or perhaps even the killer.

What fans do know is that Germann joins a sophomore ensemble, including the iconic Neve Campbell returning as final girl Sidney Prescott, and newcomers Isabel May and Celeste O'Connor. Isabel May is set to play Sidney’s teenage daughter, while details about O'Connor's character remain under wraps.

While Courteney Cox is also expected to return as Gale Weathers, she has yet to officially sign on. There's also potential for Patrick Dempsey to reprise his role as Mark Kincaid from "Scream 3", now married to Sidney. Notably absent from the cast are Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who originally played fan-favorite characters but exited amid contract disputes and social media controversies.

Creative changes have abounded during the pre-production of "Scream 7". Initially helmed by Christopher Landon, the directing reins have now been overtaken by Kevin Williamson. The screenwriter behind the original "Scream" film, Williamson has stepped up to direct this highly awaited sequel. Neve Campbell, celebrating Williamson's involvement, said, "While I've been so incredibly lucky to make these films with both the master of horror Wes Craven and the wonderfully talented Matt and Tyler team, I've dreamt for many years of how amazing it would be to make one of these movies with Kevin Williamson at the helm. And now it's happening."

"Scream VI" set the stage for this upcoming film with a franchise-high domestic gross of over $108 million, contributing to the series' more than $900 million worldwide box office earnings. Produced by James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Paul Neinstein for Project X Entertainment and distributed by Spyglass Media Group, "Scream 7" is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026.

Will Asa Germann's character in "Scream 7" become another memorable part of the Ghostface lore? With Kevin Williamson directing and a mix of old and new faces on board, fans are eagerly anticipating the next scream-worthy experience.
