AceShowbiz - Flavor Flav of Public Enemy has expressed his perspective on how singer Chappell Roan has dealt with disrespectful fan behavior. During an appearance on TMZ's Merry Elfin' Christmas special, Flav stated that he believes Roan's approach may not serve her best interests.
"I think it's one of the biggest mistakes she can make," Flav said. "It's the people that make her who she is. If they're taking their time out for you, you should be able to do the same for them." He added, "I get scared when nobody comes up asking for a selfie. I get nervous like, 'What did I do wrong?' "
Roan made headlines earlier this year after she denounced fan behavior in a series of social media posts and videos. She expressed that she would not tolerate "abuse, harassment, or stalking" and that it was not acceptable behavior.
"That doesn't make it OK. That doesn't make it normal. That doesn't mean I want it or like it," Roan said in the posts.
Shortly after, Roan canceled two scheduled shows a day before they were to take place. She stated that she felt overwhelmed and needed to prioritize her mental health.
While Flav believes Roan should reconsider her stance, several celebrities have voiced their support for her. Daniel Craig praised her for having "the guts to say those things," and Miley Cyrus expressed her understanding of the challenges Roan faces. She said, "It's probably really hard coming into this business with phones and Instagram."
