Prepare to journey back to 1991 Miami on the gripping new prequel series, 'Dexter: Original Sin', where the dark origins of Dexter Morgan unfold in a tale that promises to captivate and thrill.

AceShowbiz - The highly anticipated prequel series to the iconic "Dexter" franchise, "Dexter: Original Sin", has released an official trailer, introducing fans to a young Dexter as he navigates his transition from student to serial killer.

The 10-episode drama series will premiere on December 13 on Paramount+ for Showtime subscribers and make its on-air debut on December 15 in the U.S. Set in 1991 Miami, "Original Sin" follows Dexter Morgan (played by Patrick Gibson) as his bloodthirsty urges intensify, forcing him to learn to control his inner darkness.

Under the guidance of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), Dexter adopts a Code to guide his actions, targeting those who deserve to be eliminated from society without attracting law enforcement attention. However, his task becomes more challenging as he balances his extracurricular activities with a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.

The trailer features Dexter struggling with his morality and the consequences of his actions. He grapples with the weight of his inheritance and the need to protect his family, including his sister.

The cast includes Molly Brown, Christina Milian, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, Patrick Dempsey and special guest star Sarah Michelle Gellar. Executive producers include Clyde Phillips, Scott Reynolds, Michael C. Hall, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns.

The trailer concludes with Dexter's inner voice, provided by Michael C. Hall, the original Dexter, emphasizing the evolution of his character. "This is who I am, who I need to be. Learning my code was just the beginning. Bringing it to life for the first time is a whole new story," he says.
