Sarah Michelle Gellar Hints at 'McBuff' Crossover With Patrick Dempsey on 'Dexter: Original Sin'

Sarah Michelle Gellar makes use of her Instagram account to share a photo of her and Patrick as they will be joining cast of the upcoming 'Dexter' prequel series.

AceShowbiz - In the highly anticipated Dexter prequel series "Dexter: Original Sin", Sarah Michelle Gellar and Patrick Dempsey are set to portray pivotal characters. Sarah took to Instagram to tease her "McBuff" crossover in a new photo.

"The crossover you didn’t know you needed (#McBuff?!?)," she wrote alongside a photo of them together.

Set in 1991 Miami, the series follows a young Dexter Morgan (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions into the infamous serial killer. Gellar stars as Tanya Martin, the CSI chief at the Miami Metro Police Department and Dexter's boss at his forensics internship. Dempsey takes on the role of Miami Metro Homicide Captain Aaron Spencer.

The cast also includes Christian Slater as Dexter's father, Harry Morgan; Molly Brown as his sister, Debra Morgan; and Michael C. Hall voicing Dexter's "Dark Passenger."

The Paramount+ with Showtime series premieres on Friday, December 13th on streaming and on-demand. It will debut internationally on December 13th for Paramount+ subscribers.

Showrunner/EP Clyde Phillips, along with executive producers Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns, bring the series to life. Reuniting with Slater is director Michael Lehmann.

In addition to Gellar and Dempsey, the prequel features a star-studded cast, including James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, Joe Pantoliano, Brittany Allen, Randy Gonzalez and more.

The prequel captures the essence of the original "Dexter" series while introducing a new generation of characters and exploring the complexities of Dexter's psyche during his early years.
