AceShowbiz - The captivating world of "Wicked" has leaped from the stage to the big screen, and its debut has not only delighted fans but also brought a wave of emotions for its stars, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Both actresses took to Instagram to share their gratitude and reflections on the journey of bringing the beloved story to life.
Grande, who portrays Glinda, addressed her "sweet, sweet fans" in a poignant letter on her Instagram Stories on November 22. "Often when we meet in person, you tell me that you've grown up with me or about the impact that my work has had on your life, but I feel like I don't really get the chance to tell you enough about the impact that you've had on mine," she penned.
She continued, "I want to tell you how grateful I am for the many ways in which you've held me over the years... you have held my hand and helped mend my heart time and time again over the past ten years and I would never be here without you. I mean that in every way you can interpret it."
Grande acknowledged the fans' patience during what they referred to as "the drought," a period when she immersed herself in the project. She expressed her deep appreciation for their "fierce protection, passion, and ability to see me and love me as I evolve." Concluding her message, Grande conveyed, "Thank you for growing with me. It's one of the greatest joys and gifts of my life. I love you. See you at the theater."
Similarly, Cynthia Erivo, who takes on the role of Elphaba, reflected on her emotional journey with "Wicked." In her Instagram post, she shared behind-the-scenes photos from the set and wrote, "This journey has been long, and paved with bright, yellow brick. We have laughed and cried, held hands and walked side by side, our lives intertwined, and because of that, we were irrevocably changed for good. We gained more than a movie."
Erivo extended her gratitude to her character Elphaba "for the gifts you have brought me" and wrote an affectionate note to Grande, addressing her as "Galinda/ Glinda/ Ariana Grande-Butera," and praising her as "the truest, kindest human being."
Her heartfelt message didn't stop there as she also thanked the film's director, Jon M. Chu, for guiding the project with love and imagination, saying, "You lead us with love and it is all over that screen. From me to you… look it's tomorrow. Wicked is now yours, from us with love."
"Wicked" is now showing in theaters, promising to enchant audiences with its magical and transformative tale.
