AceShowbiz - Whoopi Goldberg landed in hot water for her recent comments on "The View". The actress and daytime TV co-host was slammed for being "tone-deaf" as she talked about having to "work for a living" in a new episode of the talk show.

In the Wednesday, November 13 episode, Whoopi shared that she considered herself a member of the working class. "I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me too. I work for a living," the "Sister's Sister" star said while discussing Donald Trump's second-term presidency. "If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, OK? So, I'm a working person, you know?"

"My kid has to feed her family. My great-granddaughter has to be fed by her family. I know it's hard out there," she continued, comparing herself to people who are having a "hard time" in the current economic climate. "I love what [Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] did. Yay. We talk to people all the time who say, 'This is what's bothering me.' But, the thing that's bothering everybody should not be the thing that puts 85 percent of other people in danger. I think that's what we're saying."

Upon catching wind of Whoopi's comments, social media users quickly put her on blast as they dubbed her "out of touch." One critic said, "Whoopi Goldberg claims she's a 'working class American' and that her family currently knows the struggle of affording groceries.. She has a net worth of $45 MILLION."

Another wrote, "All these overpaid actors are completely out of touch with reality." A third added, "She's got to be one of the most tone deaf celebrities I've ever seen. I truly don't know how anyone genuinely watches this lady except to mock her." One other sarcastically noted, "If she's working class, I'm starving class."
