AceShowbiz - Rapper Tekashi 6ix9inereached a plea deal on Wednesday, November 6 to resolve charges of violating conditions of his supervised release. As part of the deal, rge rapper, born Daniel Hernandez, agreed to serve a month in jail for the violation, followed by a month of home incarceration, a month of home detention, and a month of curfew. Additionally, he will be subject to electronic monitoring.
The deal also requires Hernandez to submit to supervision from the court's Probation Department for another year. Judge Paul A. Engelmayer will sentence Hernández on November 12 after he admits to the violations.
The judge stated that both the prosecution and defense will need to justify the sufficiency of the terms given Hernandez's repeated probation violations. In October, Hernández was detained after traveling to Las Vegas without permission. This violation led to his arrest, arraignment, and not guilty plea.
Hernandez was arrested in 2018 on racketeering and firearm charges related to his involvement with the Nine Trey Bloods gang. After initially pleading not guilty, he entered into a plea deal in 2019 and admitted to ordering a Nine Trey member to shoot at rival rapper Chief Keef.
In September, Hernandez's ex-girlfriend filed a lawsuit against him, alleging revenge porn and physical and emotional abuse, which he has denied. The plea deal is part of a series of legal issues Hernández has faced over the last decade.
Judge Engelmayer, who originally sentenced Hernandez to two years in prison in 2019 for his racketeering case, expressed dismay at Hernandez's apparent failure to adhere to the rules of his supervised release. The rapper apologized, stating that he was "not a bad person."
