AceShowbiz - Shemar Moore, the charismatic star of "S.W.A.T.", has had an eventful journey in both his personal and professional life. Growing up as an only child in Oakland, California, Moore struggled with his identity, feeling torn between his black and white heritage. His mother's words of wisdom, however, instilled in him a sense of self-worth.
After attending Santa Clara University, Moore found success in modeling and landed his breakout role on "The Young and the Restless". His time on the soap opera not only brought him fame but also a deep bond with close friend Kristoff St. John, who passed away in 2019.
Moore's high-profile romances also contributed to his rise to stardom. Early in his career, he became known for dating A-list celebrities such as Halle Berry and Toni Braxton. "I had a good time being single," he recalls in an interview with PEOPLE. "But I did it right - I was always honest."
Now, 30 years later, Moore is happily dating girlfriend Jesiree Dizon, with whom he welcomed daughter Frankie, 1. Although he is still delighted to be seen as a sex symbol, he reveals, "It's a show." Moore admits, "I've told Jesiree and girlfriends in the past 'When I leave this house I put my cape on with dignity and honesty and I put on a show.' "
At home, however, the show ends. "I'm Babe, dad, and to the homies I'm Sham," Moore says. "I know I'm cool. I earned that. But I'm normal, I'm regular."
