At 54 years old, the 'S.W.A.T.' actor shares his thoughts on expanding his family while reflecting on the joys and challenges of first-time fatherhood after welcoming his first child with his partner Jesiree Dizon.

AceShowbiz - Shemar Moore, known for his roles on "S.W.A.T." and "The Young and the Restless", has won the hearts of many with his charm and charisma. At 54, he finds himself in a new role, fatherhood. Together with his partner Jesiree Dizon, Moore welcomed their daughter Frankie in January 2023. However, the couple's home is bustling with more than just baby laughter; Dizon brings her two other children, 17-year-old Kayden and 6-year-old Charlie, from previous relationships, into the mix.

Moore candidly discussed the idea of expanding his family in a recent interview with PEOPLE. When asked about the possibility of having more children, he responded, "Possibly. But I ain't no spring chicken and Ms. Thing [Dizon], she's already got two wonderful kids - her son, Kayden, who's 17, and her little daughter Charlie, who's 6 - and they're sweethearts. And then we got little Frankie. We got our dog, Tyson. So we got a full house."

The actor has expressed that age is a critical factor in his decision-making. Reflecting on his lifespan, Moore said, "I'm not going to live forever. And let's say I make it to 90, that puts Frankie at 37. So I'd rather give her 37 years of all of me, than worry twice and split that up." This sentiment emphasizes his desire to be fully present for his daughter, even if it means forgoing having more children.

Despite the challenges that come with being a first-time dad in his 50s, Moore is head over heels for his daughter. He shared with PEOPLE his joy of watching her grow, saying, "She's walking! She waited for me to get off of work. I get the announcement that 'S.W.A.T.' is coming back for season 8 and 22 episodes and literally the next day, she walked 10 steps. Now she's waddling all over the house."

While the future holds many uncertainties, for Moore, the present is shining brightly. The actor is more focused on enjoying every moment with his current family setup and his role onn "S.W.A.T.", which continues to capture the audience's attention. As he navigates fatherhood, Moore relies heavily on Dizon, stating, "Thank goodness for that because I just follow her lead in mommy-hood and fatherhood and all that. So I'm baby-stepping, just trying to figure it all out."
