AceShowbiz - Scarlett Johansson gathered her "The Avengers" co-stars for an empowering video endorsing Kamala Harris. In a video shared on social media on Friday, November 1, the actress was joined by Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Danai Gurira, Don Cheadle and Paul Bettany to show their support for the democratic presidential nominee.

In the clip, the stars jokingly suggested that Kamala needed a catchphrase, referencing their past movies. "How about this? I'm just off the top of my head. 'I can do this all day,' " Evans said. Downey suggested, "What about something punchier like-," before Cheadle interjected, "Boom! You looking for this?"

Gurira, meanwhile, noted, "Kamala forever." Bettany then quipped, "How about 'I'm down with democracy'? It's clean and simple." Cheadle loved it, adding, "I'm Kamala Harris and I say down with democracy. Yeah, together we got to tear down democracy." He later rephrased it, "I'm Kamala Harris, and I am down with democracy."

Some people, however, didn't seem to be down with the video. Upon watching the clip, Internet users blasted the actors for the cringe and indirectly tone-deaf ad for Harris.

"New cringe just dropped," Washington Examiner contributor Kimberly Ross commented. "I believe we can safely say Vice President Kamala Harris has secured the Hollywood douchenozzle vote," Conservative commentator Carmine Sabia said.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz added, "Um, a little too much honesty here….Kamala Harris 'tearing down democracy!' " Gen Z commentator Chandler Crump, meanwhile, noted, "As a marvel fan this is so sad to watch. Whatever happened to the days of 'Republicans buy shoes too'?"

"The cast of the Avengers, who all now look like they have terminal illnesses... Say 'down with democracy' and 'tear down democracy' in support of Kamala," comedian Tim Youg chimed in. Another user penned, "Sounds like we know where Hollywood stands. This is embarrassing, fake and cringe."
