Prepare yourself for an immersive experience into the breathtaking 'Dune' universe, as HBO's newest series 'Dune: Prophecy' takes you 10,000 years before the rise of Paul Atreides.

AceShowbiz - Frank Herbert's expansive "Dune" franchise is set to grow even further with the upcoming HBO original series, "Dune: Prophecy." This much-anticipated prequel series is set 10,000 years before the events of Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" movies, offering fans a deep dive into the origins of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood. The official trailer for the series premiered at New York Comic-Con, leaving fans buzzing with excitement.

Showrunner Alison Schapker emphasizes that her team approached the project with the mindset of pulling off a grand scope, stating, "To pull off that level of scope, you need a lot of trust from our partners; they told us not to hold back."

The trailer, which debuted at the NYCC panel, showcases the regal aesthetic and the intense storyline that aims to be both thought-provoking and visually breathtaking, according to executive producer Jordan Goldberg.

The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast led by Emily Watson and Olivia Williams, who portray two Harkonnen sisters. Supporting them are Travis Fimmel, Mark Strong, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, and many others.

As Pia Barlow, Executive Vice President of Originals Marketing at HBO and Max, says, "By offering interactive experiences, panels, and special screenings, we’re bringing the epic story of the Sisterhood to life, allowing fans to connect with the series in a whole new way before its premiere this November."

Fans can expect six episodes in total, with new episodes releasing weekly on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and Max. This staggered release schedule encourages viewers to savor each episode rather than binge-watch the series. Each episode promises a new layer of intrigue, with Episode 2 described as an "unbelievable horror episode" by Goldberg.

"Dune: Prophecy" draws inspiration from the "Great Schools of Dune" prequel novel trilogy by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, yet plots its own original course in the "Dune" universe. The visual and thematic parallels with Villeneuve's movies ensure it's a feast for the eyes and mind, amplifying the franchise's grandeur.
