AceShowbiz - After her last movie role in "Annie", Diaz started a new chapter as a vintner, co-founding the vegan-friendly wine brand Avaline with friend Katherine Power in 2020. In 2019, Diaz gave birth to her first child via surrogate with husband Benji Madden, and they welcomed their second child in March 2023.

However, Diaz isn't completely done with the screen. In January 2025, she will star alongside Jamie Foxx in "Back in Action", an action comedy for Netflix. Foxx played a key role in Diaz's decision to return to acting, as she wrote on Instagram in 2022, "Jamie Foxx, only you could get me back in action!!!"

Diaz has also been rumored to be returning for "Shrek 5" and is in talks to star in the dark comedy "Outcome" with Keanu Reeves.

"It was just the right time for my family," Diaz said of her decision to return. "My husband and I - he was like, ‘You’ve been supporting us and building the family,’ and supporting him in his businesses, he’s like, ‘It’s time for us to support you and let Mommy ascend and do her thing.'"
