Officially titled 'Karate Kid: Legends', the latest installment in the 'Karate Kid' franchise is scheduled to hit theaters in 2025 and reunite two iconic karate masters: Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan.

AceShowbiz - The sixth film in "The Karate Kid" series has got an official title: "Karate Kid: Legends". It will bring together Ralph Macchio's Daniel LaRusso, now a martial arts master, and Jackie Chan's Mr. Han, a karate master from China.

The new film will focus on a young teenager from China (Ben Wang) who discovers his identity and strength through martial arts, meeting both LaRusso and Chan's characters along the way.

Other cast members include Joshua Jackson, Ming-Na Wen, Sadie Stanley, Aramis Knight, Wyatt Oleff, Jennifer Lyn-Christie, and Ben Wang as the titular Karate Kid. Jonathan Entwistle ("The End of the F**ing World", "I Am Not Okay With This") directs the film from a screenplay by Rob Lieber.

The plot details for "Karate Kid: Legends" remain under wraps, but the film is expected to blend the stories of Macchio and Chan from their respective "Karate Kid" films. The film will be promoted at New York Comic-Con on October 18.

Despite the release of other films in the franchise, it was the recent Netflix series "Cobra Kai", starring Macchio and William Zabka, that truly revitalized interest in the franchise. With "Cobra Kai" final season set to release in 2025, "Karate Kid: Legends" is poised to continue the legacy of the beloved martial arts series on May 30, 2025.
