Sabrina Carpenter's reflective journey into songwriting and her unapologetically authentic image is winning hearts and stirring conversations. Discover the surprising moments that shaped her path to stardom.

AceShowbiz - This week, 25-year-old pop star Sabrina Carpenter, known for hits like "Espresso," found herself included on the TIME100 Next List. In an interview with TIME, she revealed crucial aspects of her life and career, offering insights into her songwriting process and reflections on fame.

Amid speculation that her new album hints at her relationships with fellow celebrities such as Shawn Mendes and Barry Keoghan, Sabrina chose not to name names. Yet, she shared significant reflections on the personal nature of her music.

"It'll probably bite me in the a** at some point, but it's been a really therapeutic album to be able to just say what I'm thinking," she explained. "I'm so blunt and forward. I feel like, 'what is the reason that we're all hiding from each other when these are just real things?' Sometimes men embarrass you. That's super normal."

Sabrina also addressed critiques regarding her provocative image and performances. Carpenter's unapologetic embrace of her style and her firm stance against criticism reflects her dedication to being true to herself. Speaking about her wardrobe choices, she stated, "Femininity is something that I've always embraced. And if right now that means corsets and garter belts and fuzzy robes or whatever the f**k, then that's what that means."

Responding to comments about her onstage appearance, Sabrina offered a straightforward rebuttal, "You'll still get the occasional mother that has a strong opinion on how you should be dressing. And to that I just say, 'don't come to the show' and that's OK."

She emphasized the absurdity of the critique, stating, "It's unfortunate that it's ever been something to criticize, because truthfully, the scariest thing in the world is getting up on a stage in front of that many people and having to perform as if it's nothing. If the one thing that helps you do that is the way you feel comfortable dressing, then that's what you've got to do."

Reflecting on when she felt she had "made it," Sabrina shared a surreal moment - being mentioned during Dan Levy and Eugene Levy's monologue at the 2024 Emmys. "That was probably the first time I was like, Oh, I'm not even there," she recounted. This mention signaled a profound realization of her fame.

She also described feeling both thrilled and overwhelmed when she was invited to perform on "Saturday Night Live," noting she "literally threw up" from the excitement and would likely feel the same way if invited to the Grammys.
