AceShowbiz - Keanu Reeves, stepping outside the realm of acting, made his professional auto racing debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 5 in the Toyota GR Cup. However, his debut was not without a minor hiccup.
Halfway through the 45-minute race, Reeves' Toyota spun into the grass at the Turn 9 exit, narrowly avoiding a collision. Thankfully, he re-entered the race uninjured. Despite the spinout, Reeves finished 25th out of 35 racers.
Reeves had previously qualified 31st for the event and had even reached as high as 21st position during the race. His No. 92 BRZRKR car, promoting his graphic novel "The Book of Elsewhere," along with his teammate Cody Jones from "Dude Perfect," supported Reeves' racing debut.
Reeves has prior racing experience, having won the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach celebrity race in 2009. Following his Saturday return to the car racing track, Reeves is set to participate in a second race on Sunday.
The Toyota GR Cup is a support series for the Indy 8 Hour sports car event and serves as a testament to Reeves' diverse interests, which include creating and overseeing comic series, co-writing novels, and playing bass in his band Dogstar.
Although predominantly known for his acting career, Reeves' auto racing debut and other endeavors outside of film showcase his multifaceted talents and unwavering pursuit of new experiences.
