AceShowbiz - Garth Brooks and Trish Yearwood sold the Brentwood, Tennessee mansion they share for $3.34 million on Tuesday, October 2, just one day before Brooks was accused of sexual assault and battery in a lawsuit filed by a woman identified as "Jane Roe."
Yearwood purchased the 6,553-square-foot home in 2000, five years before her marriage to Brooks. The 4.42-acre property was originally listed for sale in 2014 and was re-listed in May 2023 for $4.5 million. Its price was subsequently reduced to $3.950 million in April and $3.8 million in September.
The mansion boasts two gated entrances, nine-camera surveillance, and a chef's kitchen equipped with high-end appliances.
In the lawsuit filed on October 3, Jane Roe alleges that Brooks raped and sexually assaulted her on numerous occasions in 2019, including making sexually explicit comments, exposing himself, and sending sexually explicit text messages.
Roe claims that Brooks' legal team learned of her plans to sue and filed a preemptive complaint against her as "John Doe" on September 13, accusing her of being a "lying extortionist."
Brooks has denied the allegations, claiming they are the result of extortion and defamation of character. He has filed suit against Roe to prevent the lawsuit from moving forward.
Yearwood has not publicly commented on the allegations. Brooks has stated that he trusts the legal system and is not afraid of the truth.
Despite the allegations, Brooks has continued to perform and participate in his charitable activities. He and Yearwood remain married after nearly 20 years.
