AceShowbiz - DDG wants no drama in his split from Halle Bailey. The rapper has denied dissing his ex-girlfriend and baby mama after a screenshot of his alleged statement, which explained the reason why he called it quits with the singer/actress, went viral.
The said screenshot was purportedly taken from the YouTuber's "close friends" post on Instagram. He, however, has disputed the validity of the statement, writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday, October 4, "I don't even use close friends, stop being weird."
In the post in question, DDG allegedly addressed speculation that he was trolling fans with the split announced. He also appeared to diss his ex as the statement read, "I'm a grown man I can make my own decisions. We chose to split because of personal reasons, Nah it's not a kit. I'm not hurt and I'm not missing out on anything and her head game is [trash emoji] AF lol, as long as my son good I'm good."
It's unclear where the screenshot originated, but many doubted that DDG wrote it. "I believe him he wouldn't say that about that girl," someone reacted to his clarification. Another weighed in, "ddg is a troll, yes but yall know damn well he wouldn't say that."
"I can't believe this. That man loves his son. He wouldn't dare. IMO," a third opined. Someone else pointed out, "Just know that the verified account checks are BLUE not gray ..."
DDG announced his split from Halle on Thursday, October 3. He wrote, "After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it's the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we've spent together and the love we've shared."
The 26-year-old reiterated, "We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we've built and the beautiful moments we've shared."
Fans of the Chloe x Halle singer have since celebrated the news, with one saying that she "deserves better, anyway." The former couple, who began dating in early 2022, welcomed their son Halo in late 2023.
