AceShowbiz - Social media users have a field day following an announcement of Halle Bailey and DDG's breakup. After the YouTuber confirmed his split from his baby mama, less than a year following the birth of their son, many people celebrated the news.
Fans of the singer/actress took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to congratulate her on her brave decision to end her relationship with the rapper. Expressing their joy, one fan mocked DDG by sharing a video of a "crackhead" who is doing the most to get attention.
"Halle bailey finally free from the shackles of that loser ddg," another user exclaimed. A third praised Halle's decision, "halle bailey sister i'm so proud of you!!" Echoing the sentiment, one other exclaimed, "Halle Bailey is finally free!!!"
A fifth fan wrote, "idc i'm happy for halle bailey. I really do feel she wanted to keep her son off the internet and keep his face hidden from online but ddg knew the attention and views it would get him along with money." Someone else claimed, "Halle Bailey deserves better, anyway. I'm glad our girl can move on from him. Now, I hope they can co-parent in peace."
However, there were some people who criticized those celebrating the couple's breakup. One of them said, "Celebrating a family being broken is odd behavior." Another remarked, "Happy over someone else's breakup is just sad."
"Seeing so many black people celebrate that Halle Bailey and DDG have broken up knowing you never cared for their relationship and family in the first place just shows how miserable SOME of you are," one other person said. "Congratulations, your wish was granted, and yo broke up a happy home."
Meanwhile, others refused to believe the news, pointing out that DDG often pranks on social media. "Whole time it's a prank, are y'all forgetting he's a YouTuber???" someone remarked. Another doubter said, "Nah idk he play too much we gotta hear it from halle."
"he's trolling lol , i don't believe it," another user reacted to the news. Someone else theorized, "Friendly reminder to mind yall business cause she prolly laid right by him as he posted that."
In a statement posted on his Instagram Story on Thursday, October 3, DDG wrote, "After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it's the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we've spent together and the love we've shared."
The 26-year-old reiterated, "We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we've built and the beautiful moments we've shared."
The two began dating in early 2022 and welcomed their son Halo in late 2023.
