AceShowbiz - Hilarie Burton Morgan, who will reprise her role on the "One Tree Hill" revival alongside Sophia Bush, has shed light on the transformative experience of filming the sequel series. Morgan expressed her enthusiasm for collaborating with an all-female production team, highlighting the importance of female teamwork in shaping the narrative and behind-the-scenes dynamics.
"This go-around, being able to work with a team of women and examine these stories and characters through a female lens is incredibly vital to me," Morgan shared. "Female teamwork has been the foundation of my successful endeavors, and I'm thrilled to team up with people I admire and cherish."
The revival, which has reportedly found a home at Netflix, will see the return of Burton, Bush and Danneel Ackles in their original roles. All three actresses will also serve as executive producers.
The news comes seven years after Burton, Bush and Ackles, along with other cast and crew members, accused "One Tree Hill" creator Mark Schwahn of physical and emotional manipulation and sexual harassment. Schwahn has not publicly addressed these allegations.
Burton, who portrayed Peyton Sawyer for six seasons, noted that the revival is influenced by her current life experiences and will feature stories that resonate with her at this stage in her life. "The stories I want to tell now are vastly different from when I was in my early twenties," she said.
Morgan also expressed her gratitude for the positive reception the revival has received from fans. "It's heartwarming to see how well the reboot has been received by our fans," she said. "We hope to gain Netflix's approval and bring this exciting project to fruition."
The original "One Tree Hill" series, set in the fictional town of Tree Hill, North Carolina, followed the lives of feuding brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott, as well as their friends Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis. The show, which began as a conventional teen drama, later gained notoriety for its increasingly dramatic storylines as it traced the characters' lives from adolescence to young adulthood.
