The 'Fly Like Me' rapper backs out of performing at an LGBT MAGA event and declares that he's 'not a Trump supporter' after catching flak for his inclusion in the lineup.

AceShowbiz - Chingy has distanced himself Donald Trump and all things related to him after catching heat for his now-canceled plans to perform at a Republican event. The rapper has dropped out of the conservative event following backlash over his inclusion in the lineup.

"YOU KNO WHAT JUS CAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MESS," Chingy announced the decision under Ball Alert's Instagram post. He added, "I HAVE DECLINED PERFORMING AND NO IM MOT A TRUMP SUPPORTER NOR SUPPORTER OF ANYONE ELSE BUT CHINGY. THURR YOU HAVE IT."

A social media user also asked to confirm, "Sir, are you a MAGA supporter?" He then stressed in his response, "I'm a Chingy supporter. I get paid to perform not care about politics."

Chingy came under fire after being revealed to perform at Red White & Rock in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday, September 29. The event is created to offer support to LGBT+ conservatives.

While former president Trump is not slated to appear at the event, his son Donald Trump Jr. and his fiancee Kimberly Guilfoyle are among those featured in the flyer of the event. Other stars set to support the event include Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Chris DeStefano, former The Pussycat Dolls member Jessica Sutta, former "American Idol" contestant Jimmy Levy as well as country music stars Craig Campbell and Jesse Keith Whitley.

This isn't the first time Chingy faced criticism for his connections to conservative organizations. In 2016, the "Pullin' Me Back" hitmaker endorsed Trump for president. At the time, he also changed his mind after catching heat online.

"didn't know about some of the negative things," he wrote on Twitter. "He had to say about some of the races out here and about the hip-hop community." He continued, "I didn't know a lot of the negative things. I was kind of commenting off reading that article and reading some of the good things that he said, so that's kind of where my comments came from."
