Eve has clarified her conversation with Jay-Z about the challenges female rappers faced in the late 1990s, insisting the Jiggaman's remarks were not made out of malice.

AceShowbiz - Eve cleared up the comments made by Jay-Z about her debut album and the success of female rap artists. In a recent interview on "The Breakfast Club", Eve revealed that Jay-Z advised her not to get her hopes up about her first project as female artists typically didn't do well at the time.

Eve explained that Jay-Z's words were "facts" and helped her "temper" her expectations. "It was a very amazing phone call that I needed," she said. "I always felt like I was the underdog anyway. And he wasn't saying it out of malice or [to be] mean. It wasn't about that. It was facts, really!"

Despite Jay-Z's warning, Eve's debut album, "Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady," was a commercial success. It sold 213,000 copies in its first week and eventually went double platinum.

"It's funny because that was one of those things that we were like, 'Do we put this in there?' because you know how people get," Eve said of her revelation about Jay-Z's comments. "But there was nothing bad about that. It was a very amazing phone call that I needed."
