AceShowbiz - After two years of dating, reality stars Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick are officially engaged. The proposal was a romantic and unexpected moment that took place on a boat in Maui, Hawaii. With the beautiful Hawaiian sunset as a backdrop, while Doute was distracted by dolphins, Broderick caught her off guard as he got down on one knee and asked Doute to marry him.
"It was a total surprise," Doute exclaimed to Us Weekly, adding that she blurted out some expletives upon seeing Broderick with the ring.
The exquisite ring, designed by their good friend Kyle Chan, is a stunning 14K white gold piece featuring a 4.27-carat Emerald cut diamond. Additionally, the ring has a half-carat worth of diamonds on the band and a hidden halo, symbolizing the "love around the center diamond."
Doute and Broderick first met in June 2022 at a friend's wedding, where Doute was a bridesmaid and Broderick a groomsman. Their chemistry was immediate, and after an initial summer fling, they went public with their relationship in December 2022.
Despite facing several challenges during their relationship, such as an eight-year age difference and living in separate states, the couple's bond only strengthened over time. "I knew from the moment we met that Luke was my person," Doute shared. "I am so excited to continue this journey together, now as fiancés."
Throughout their relationship, the couple faced significant hurdles. One of the major challenges was deciding where to live, with Broderick originally residing in Colorado and Doute in California. After some debate, they finally settled in Valley Village, Calif., moving into their new home in March 2023.
Additionally, the couple experienced the heartbreak of a miscarriage last year at six weeks into the pregnancy. Discussing their struggles, Doute opened up on their podcast, "S--, Love, and What Else Matters With Kristen Doute," expressing hope for the future.
"It was just a really unfortunate thing that happened to us, and I know that we can try [again] fairly soon. And I think that we're very hopeful to have a very healthy pregnancy the next time around," she said.
Despite the ups and downs, Doute and Broderick remain hopeful and committed to starting a family together. They continue to document their journey on Bravo's "The Valley", providing fans with a glimpse into their lives and future plans.
As they embark on this new chapter, it's evident that Doute and Broderick's love story is just beginning, filled with hope and anticipation for what lies ahead.
