AceShowbiz - Jax Taylor broke his silence regarding Brittany Cartwright's decision to end their marriage on the latest episode of his podcast, "When Reality Hits". He expressed understanding and acceptance of her filing for divorce, stating, "I know that Brittany addressed our current situation on last week's podcast. It's been a really, really rough week. Anyone that has gone through a divorce will understand how difficult this is."
"I don't blame her at all," he said. "I understand why she did, and I agree that this is the right decision for our family." He went on, "I will always love and care for Brittany, I mean, she's the mother of my beautiful son."
Despite the difficulty of facing a public split, the 45-year-old reality star admitted, "I never expected Brittany would actually pull the trigger and move out of our family home in February. When she decided to leave, I was kind of in shock. I shouldn't have been in shock, but I was in shock." The couple shares a 3-year-old son, Cruz, and is working towards maintaining a co-parenting relationship.
Taylor has also been highly transparent about his recent mental health struggles. Earlier this summer, he checked into a mental health facility where he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD. Reflecting on his stay, he revealed, "I got there and I f**king hated it, and then I loved it. I didn't want to f**king leave. I really, really didn't. I was so sad leaving. I was crying, I was like, 'I don't want to go.' "
Post-rehab, Taylor has been focusing on bettering himself for his family. "Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you but rather you learning to control it," he wrote on Instagram. He further elaborated, "I now have a little bit better understanding of my mental health struggles. I've been put on some serious medication that's actually been helping me out a lot."
As the couple navigates their separation, Taylor emphasized his commitment to being a positive figure for their son. "I know I'm an amazing father and I know that I will make an excellent ex-husband. My focus is making Cruz the priority," he noted, holding out hope for an amicable future with Cartwright.
The separation followed reports of Taylor spending time apart from Cartwright and investigating his mental health. As Taylor continues to share his journey, fans of "The Valley" and "Vanderpump Rules" are watching closely, supporting his efforts to focus on self-improvement and family.
