Quan gained fame in 2013 with his hit single "Type of Way." He went on to release other popular songs such as "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)" and "Ride Out." He was also a member of the Cash Money Records project "Rich Gang" alongside Young Thug and Birdman.

Fellow rapper Boosie Badass confirmed the news on X, stating that Quan had overdosed. However, Quan's official cause of death remains to be confirmed.

Quan did have history of drug use before his death. The rapper was charged with felony drug possession in 2017, but the case was later dismissed due to lack of evidence.

Quan's family expressed their shock and grief over his sudden death, stating that they are "shattered and heartbroken." Friends and fans have taken to social media to pay tribute to the rapper. His last Instagram post, shared on Monday, featured him wearing a football jersey and glasses, with the caption, "Vision clear even through the BS."

Rich Homie Quan's death comes just days after the rap world lost another star, Fatman Scoop, who died at age 53 after collapsing onstage during a performance. Quan's passing has sent shockwaves through the industry, and his music will continue to inspire generations of fans.
