AceShowbiz - GloRilla has credited criticism about her music career for making her work harder. Upon learning that a critic told her that she "fell off," the "Yeah Glo!" raptress did not hesitate to fire back at the online hater.
Recently, the 25-year-old female hip-hop artist revealed that she used negative comments from social media users as a motivation to improve her works. Making use of X, formerly known as Twitter, she shared her response to an X user criticizing her music career.
In a tweet, Glo penned, "I remember bookmarking dis & telling myself 'Dey gotchu f**ked up so bad,' " adding a skeleton and crying face emoji. She went on to write, "dis post ain't do s**t but put a battery in my back I needed dat."
The spitter, who collaborated with fellow raptress Megan Thee Stallion for "Wanna Be", further reminded social media users to "keep going" despite hateful comments. She concluded the tweet, "Don't let dese people write yo story for you , Keep going !!!"
Glo was replying to an online hater's tweet that read, "Glorilla fell off so fast and bad," adding a slew of crying face emojis. The particular tweet was published on October 2023.
Glo's reply was screenshotted and shared by a blog on Instagram. It prompted Instagram users to come to her defense. In the comments section, one user said, "The funny thing is she's been one of the most consistent out of the new girls & been putting out bops since 2022."
Similarly, another chimed in, "I don't know she fell off cause she's been consistent the entire time," adding clapping hands emoji. A third gushed, "Y'all was definitely saying she was a one hit wonder! Congratulations to her for proving ppl wrong and continuing making hits!" A fourth added, "I'm glad she saw it then! She's put out so many hits."
The tweet came after Glo celebrated a new milestone. Earlier in September, the spitter, who was born and raised in Tennessee, was honored with the key to the city of Memphis. She received the honor during a concert.
