AceShowbiz - Memphis rapper GloRilla performed for the first time on "Saturday Night Live", kicking off her performance with the Grammy-nominated "Yeah Glo!"
The song, released in April 2024 as part of her mixtape "Ehhthang Ehhthang," has become a massive hit, gaining multiple nominations including Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at music's biggest awards, Grammys.
The rapper has expressed her surprise at the song's popularity, telling the Associated Press, "I was shocked. I knew it was a good song, but I didn't know it would go as crazy as it did."
For her second performance on "SNL", GloRilla delivered a medley of tracks from her debut album, "Glorious," including "Whatchu Kno About Me" and "Let Her Cook." The album peaked at No. 5 on Billboard Hot 200 and reached No. 2 on Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
Since her breakout success, GloRilla has garnered praise from industry icons such as Beyonce Knowles. The rapper is set for a busy schedule in the coming months, with upcoming shows in Detroit, California, Arizona, and Texas. She will also make an appearance at the Bonnaroo festival in June.
