AceShowbiz - It's not easy to become a trailblazer. From being an artist who has crossed genres to one of a few openly gay rappers, Lil Nas X has gone through a series of obstacles to set his place in the game. Yet, not all doors have opened for him.
In a post shared via X, formerly known as Twitter, the two-time Grammy Award winner opened up about why it's hard to become a gay rapper. On Monday, September 2, he took to the micro-blogging site to lament the lack of the same-sex equivalent to popular eye candy like Lori Harvey and the Clermont Twins.
"Being a gay rapper is hard. straight n***as got all the baddies," he wrote. "We need more known homosexual vixens! where are our clermont twins, where is OUR lori harvey, we deserve a brittany renner too!"
Lil Nas' post garnered some playful responses, with one writing, "I'm afraid I can't help in that department, but if you decide you need a white bisexual auntie, you know where to find me." Another similarly complained, "That's a hard out here for a woman that likes other women also. It's like which flavor of flannel would you like your woman in."
"baby you are one of the vixens now go shake that a** ponk," a third encouraged the "Old Town Road" hitmaker. Someone else told the 25-year-old emcee, "gotta do everything yourself when you're a trailblazer!"
In another post, Lil Nas talked about starting over and urged his followers to be in the present and enjoy the moment. "Starting over is embarrassing and you just got to do it. Anyway, you got to start over regardless. I mean... why not?... You just got to be where you are. You got to start from where you are," he said in a video. "You got a stand next to yourself, stand beside yourself, stand beside your ideas then besides your dreams, be where you are. Stop trying to cling on to what was, so that you can become that next version of you."
"I haven't even had my next big thing," he continued lamenting. "Yeah, but I know it's coming, you know. And it can feel embarrassing like having all these eyes on you while you start something new. You have to let them watch. Enjoy the f**king show."
However, the comments were mostly negative. "U had blood in ur shoes I don't wanna hear it. Goodnight nas," one person responded. The said user referred to the fact that Lil Nas had launched a controversial pair of Satan Shoes featuring a bronze pentagram, an inverted cross and a drop of real human blood in March 2021.
Another accused the "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" spitter of "fishing for sympathy," while someone else said that he has "mocked God."
