AceShowbiz - Lil Uzi Vert has been spotted inhaling a substance thought to be nitrous oxide during a studio session, causing fans to flock to social media with worries about the rapper's well-being. This episode is particularly troubling given Uzi Vert's history with substance abuse and their candid admission of spending seven months in rehab, initially at the urging of Roc Nation boss, Jay-Z.
In a 2023 interview with 032c, Uzi Vert shared, "I didn't want to do it, but I had to and I can say now that it was a great thing to do." They added, "The first month and a half were hard. But after that, it was easy, because the people there became my family."
Interestingly, the use of nitrous oxide has created parallels between Uzi Vert and Kanye West. West was accused of being addicted to the gas by his former employee, Milo Yiannopoulos. Milo claimed on X (formerly known as Twitter) that West's addiction to nitrous, allegedly facilitated by Beverly Hills dentist Dr. Thomas P. Connelly, was the reason behind West's challenges in releasing music and clothing lines. "Connelly got Ye hooked on nitrous-laughing gas. It is my belief that Connelly sought to diminish Ye's mental faculties so that Connelly and his business associates could extract millions of dollars from him," Milo stated in his contentious affidavit.
However, Dr. Connelly's spokesperson has categorically refuted these claims, stating, "Dr. Thomas P. Connelly categorically denies all the false allegations made by Milo Yiannopoulos in his affidavit." The denial further underscores that "Dr. Connelly has never engaged in any reckless, unethical, or illegal conduct, nor has he ever endangered the health and safety of any of his patients." Meanwhile, West's representative, Eric Cui, has also dismissed Milo's allegations as bizarre and unfounded.
Despite these controversies, both Uzi Vert and West continue to be influential figures in hip-hop, with West notably calling Uzi Vert the "future" of hip hop during an April interview. Uzi Vert, reflecting on their sobriety, believes it has enhanced their creative process, stating, "I could think more clear. And could actually, instead of my words slurring, even though that's kinda cool, everything made sense. I didn’t just make random music."
He urged fans struggling with addiction to seek help. "It's the best thing to do," he said. "It'll change your life. And you'll look better."
While West's team has not commented on Yiannopoulos' claims, Uzi Vert's fans are closely watching the situation, hoping that he does not regress in his sobriety.
