Sharing the sobering news, Fishel explained, "It is very, very, very early. It's technically stage zero. To be specific, I was diagnosed with high-grade DCIS with micro-invasion. And I'm going to be fine. I'm having surgery to remove it. I've had to make a lot of decisions over the last couple of days."

Among her biggest supporters is her husband of six years, Jensen Karp, who publicly praised her bravery on his Instagram Stories. Fishel expressed her initial hesitation to go public with her diagnosis. She admitted, "For some reason, I had always thought [if I were diagnosed with cancer] I would suffer in silence... And then when I'm on the other side of it then I would tell people."

However, the outpouring of shared experiences from others made her change her stance. She realized that, "The more people I talk to, the more people have their own experiences, either themselves being diagnosed with cancer or a family member who's been diagnosed with cancer."

Fishel emphasized the significant role regular screenings played in catching her cancer at such an early stage. "The only reason I caught this cancer when it is still stage zero is because the day I got my text message that my yearly mammogram had come up, I made the appointment," she explained, urging listeners to prioritize their health check-ups.

As the actress navigates her treatment path, she remains optimistic and determined to use her experience to help others. "I still have doctors I need to meet with, oncologists, radiation specialists, hormone therapists, all kinds of stuff that I have still in front of me to decide," she acknowledged, showcasing her resolve to tackle the challenge head-on.
