At D23 Expo, Disney has released a new trailer for 'Moana 2', which is set three years after the events of the first film, showcasing Moana's journey as a leader and explorer.

The sequel follows Moana, voiced by Auli'i Cravalho, three years after the events of the first film. Now a leader, Moana embarks on a new voyage with her trusty sidekick Maui, voiced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Disney's official synopsis reveals that Moana receives a call from her ancestors, leading her to venture into dangerous waters and explore beyond the known world. Joining her is a crew of unlikely seafarers, including Moni, Kele and Loto.

The trailer highlights Moana's growth as a leader and her determination to uncover the mysteries of her past. Johnson, who appeared at the D23 presentation, spoke about the sequel's importance, emphasizing the empowerment of young individuals and the Polynesian spirit.

In addition to the trailer, Disney also released a new poster featuring Moana, Maui and Heihei, as well as Pua the pig. The film features a new musical lineup, with music by Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Opetaia Foa'i and Mark Mancina.

"Moana 2" will hit theaters on November 27, 2024, continuing the legacy of the beloved original film and expanding the world of Moana and her adventures.
