AceShowbiz - Amber Rose has once again been called out after voicing her support for Donald Trump. When explaining her decision to endorse the former U.S. president publicly for the 2024 election, she dubbed the 78-year-old "the epitome of an alpha male," which didn't sit well with many social media users.
"I'm a single mother of two. I'm an American, I was born in Philadelphia," the model said on Lara Trump's podcast "The Right View". She continued, "And for me, Donald Trump is the epitome of an alpha male."
The TV personality and author further raved over Trump in the roughly 20-minute interview with Trump's daughter-in-law that aired on Thursday evening, July 11, "He's there to protect, provide, make sure the citizens of the U.S. are in a good economy, protecting us. I feel protected by Donald Trump." She added, "That's why I want to come out and publicly endorse him. Because I just feel safe."
But many disagreed with Rose, with one baffled user saying, "This just broke my brain. My brain is broken." A second critic asked, "How safe would she feel if she were a 13 yr old girl?"
"This is it, Trump supporters are officially the dumbest people on earth," an anti-Trump voter penned, while a fourth added, "WTAF about Trump makes her feel safe?"
Rose, who founded the SlutWalk, a feminist movement against slut-shaming and sexual assault, surprised many when she publicly endorsed Trump in May. She posted a picture of her with the former U.S. president and former First Lady Melania Trump, captioning it with, "Trump 2024" and three American flag emojis.
Defending her political stance against criticism, she said that she still supports women's rights despite her support of Trump. "I'll ALWAYS put women first. Y'all want biological men in women's sports. Trump supports the most reasonable compromise on abortion," she explained. "Stop being brainwashed cuz WE'RE ppl of color. Make your own decisions."
Recently, Rose revealed her upcoming appearance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next week. After CNN's Kristen Holmes first broke the news on X, formerly Twitter, she confirmed it through her social media pages. "It's True! I'm speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee #MAGA," she wrote under "Trump 2024."
The convention kicks off on Monday, July 15 in Wisconsin.
In other news related to Trump, Meta announced on Friday that it has lifted all limits on Trump's official Facebook and Instagram pages, days after the former POTUS ripped Mark Zuckerberg online. In a statement, Meta explained, "In assessing our responsibility to allow political expression, we believe that the American people should be able to hear from the nominees for President on the same basis."
Trump got booted from FB and IG back in 2021 for allegedly inciting the Capitol riot. He was also kicked off Twitter, now known as X. Meta reinstated Trump's account in 2023, but said that they would be monitored for potential violations that would warrant further suspension.
Trump has since moved to his own platform Truth Social. Days before Meta lifted the restrictions, Trump posted online, "All I can say is that if I'm elected President, we will pursue Election Fraudsters at levels never seen before, and they will be sent to prison for long periods of time. We already know who you are. DON'T DO IT! ZUCKERBUCKS, be careful!"
