AceShowbiz - Ryan Garcia gets the repercussions of his racially offensive rant online. On Thursday, July 4, World Boxing Council announced that the embattled boxer has been expelled from the top organization.
Making the announcement was World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman. Citing Ryan's bizarre social media behavior, he wrote on X, "Exercising my authority as president of the WBC, I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization. We reject any form of discrimination."
He continued, "I fear for Ryan well being as he has declined multiple attempts for our help with mental health and substance abuse."
In addition to his suspension from the WBC, Ryan is also serving a year-long suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission after testing positive for a banned substance prior to his April fight against Devin Haney. The former won over Haney by majority decision after scoring three knock-downs, though his victory has been changed to a "no contest."
The decision was made despite Ryan's apology on X. The boxer, who apparently has deactivated his account, reportedly wrote, "I was trolling I want all the killing to stop. I love everyone sorry if I offended you."
His family also issued a statement condemning his actions. "Our family unequivocally does not support any statements [Ryan] has made regarding race or religion - these do not reflect who Ryan truly is and how he was raised," the statement read. "Those who know Ryan can attest to this fact. Ryan has been open about his ongoing struggle with mental health over the years and as a family we are committed to ensuring and encouraging that he receives the necessary help to navigate this very challenging time and address both his immediate and long-term well-being."
Ryan sparked outrage with his racist Twitter rant. In his posts on Thursday, July 4, he used the n-word, writing, "I love n***as." Not stopping there, he mocked George Floyd's death as he said, "Let's go bring George Floyd back to life and kill that n***a again." He also insulted Mexicans, Muslims, Christians and other groups during Twitter Spaces conversations.
He also claimed that a black man sexually assaulted him, saying, "So a black man r**ed me and it's okay and everyone acts like it never happened." In a separate post, Ryan wrote, "Lil Wayne said I can say the n-word."
