Kandi Burruss, of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' fame, recently shared her experience with Ozempic, claiming that the popular weight-loss drug didn't work for her.

AceShowbiz - Kandi Burruss, the 48-year-old "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum, opened up about her disappointing experience with the trendy weight-loss drug, Ozempic, while promoting her partnership with Hydroxycut. Despite hearing success stories from her social circle, including former castmate Marlo Hampton, Burruss did not see any results.

"Last year, I tried it," she exclusively told Page Six's "Virtual Reali-Tea" podcast. "I saw so many people who were trying it and losing weight. So I was like, 'OK, I'm going to try this.' And I didn't lose any weight."

Burruss explained that even her doctor was perplexed by her body's resistance to the medication. Ozempic, an FDA-approved prescription drug for Type II diabetes, has been adopted by many celebrities for its weight-loss effects. However, Burruss recounted, "My doctor was like, 'I don't know what the problem is, I'm not seeing this in other people.' "

In Burruss's case, Ozempic didn't curb her appetite at all. "It didn't stop anything for me," she said, admitting it only made her feel more disheartened. "When you see it worked for other people and it doesn't work for you, it makes you depressed," she added.

After she left "RHOA" earlier this year, Burruss turned to a product she trusted in her younger years: Hydroxycut. "My team, they reached out to the Hydroxycut team and we worked it out. So I started out just changing my eating habits and using Hydroxycut twice a day and I lost 10 pounds in like three and a half weeks," she shared enthusiastically.

The primary ingredient in Hydroxycut, C. canephora robusta, helps metabolize carbs, fats, and proteins with added vitamin B.

Combining Hydroxycut with a new workout regimen, crafted by a professional trainer to fit her summer tour schedule with Xscape and SWV, Burruss aims to continue her weight-loss journey sustainably. Her goal is to drop to the "130-something" range.

"I have this joke, like, I haven't weighed 130-something since I was 30-something," she chuckled. Burruss is committed to achieving her best self, hoping to lose an additional 20 pounds to get back to her desired weight and possibly beyond.

As Burruss embarks on this renewed lifestyle, she stands as an inspiring figure for those striving to find effective and healthy weight-loss strategies. "Pray that I can stick to it!" she added with optimism.
