The recent presidential debate left viewers in shock, and now the hosts of 'The View' are leading the charge for President Joe Biden to reconsider his 2024 candidacy.

AceShowbiz - The day after President Joe Biden's lackluster debate against former President Donald Trump, the hosts of "The View" convened to share their sobering reactions. Sara Haines expressed the consensus sentiment, stating, "It was really hard to watch and it pains me to say this today, but I think President Biden needs to step down and be replaced if we want to defeat Donald Trump in November."

Haines argued that the Democratic Party needs to act fast, suggesting, "I think Biden's team saw it coming. That's why they pushed for an earlier debate, so they'd have time to change course if needed. I'd implore those closest to the President to have those very hard conversations they're going to need to have." She added, "Democrats need to stop spinning the age problem."

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who also criticized Biden's debate performance on CNN, was "genuinely shocked" and called it "stunningly worse than I expected." She remarked, "Donald Trump was a mess. He lied his way through it, but Joe Biden's performance was so bad that it eclipsed everything that Donald Trump said." Griffin emphasized the need for Biden to "put country before his own ambition and he needs to step aside and pass the baton."

Sunny Hostin acknowledged that Biden "lost the debate" and considered that "maybe he needs to go" to preserve his legacy. "He can bow out at this time with grace and dignity because he has a record he can be proud of," she said.

Ana Navarro, typically a Biden supporter, admitted, "I've never seen Joe Biden like I saw him last night. It was worrisome." Despite this, she stood firm in her support, stating, "Until Joe Biden tells me he's giving up, I'm not giving up on Joe Biden. He looked elderly, he sounded elderly, he is elderly, but the choice is no different - it's a very old man versus a very bad man."

As the co-hosts discussed potential replacements, names like California Governor Gavin Newsom, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries were mentioned. Although there is a rising clamor for a new Democratic nominee, it remains uncertain whether Biden will step aside, having already clinched the 2024 nomination.
