Tom Guiry, known for his role as Scotty Smalls in the 1993 film 'The Sandlot,' was arrested following a dramatic altercation with a neighbor involving a dumbbell and a knife.

AceShowbiz - On June 2nd, Tom Guiry, the actor famed for playing Scotty Smalls in the beloved 1993 film "The Sandlot," was arrested in Horry County, South Carolina. The 42-year-old actor, who has had a sporadic Hollywood career, now faces serious charges including third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and malicious damage.

According to multiple sources, including a police report and video footage obtained by TMZ, Guiry allegedly threw a 35-pound dumbbell into his neighbor's Jeep windshield. The security footage shows a man resembling Guiry lifting the dumbbell over his head and smashing it down, shattering the Jeep's windshield. The man, shirtless and wearing only jeans, then walked away towards the back of a house across the street.

The tension didn't end there. Video evidence from a doorbell camera reportedly shows Guiry approaching his neighbor's front door while holding a knife. The neighbor claimed to the officers that Guiry rang the doorbell while brandishing the weapon. During the altercation, Guiry could be heard apologizing repeatedly, saying, "That sucks, man. I'll pay you back. I'm sorry."

Following the incident, the Horry County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Guiry had been taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault and battery, and malicious injury to personal property. He was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center and released the next day after posting a $1,000 bond.

This isn't Guiry's first run-in with the law; he was previously arrested in 2013 for allegedly head-butting a police officer at a Houston airport after being deemed too intoxicated to board a plane.

Thomas Guiry's acting career, which kicked off with significant roles in "The Sandlot" and "A Place to Be Loved," includes appearances in other well-regarded films such as "Black Hawk Down," "Mystic River," and "The Revenant." Despite his Hollywood success, Guiry's personal life appears checked with instances of legal issues and altercations. As of 2018, Guiry was residing in Trenton, New Jersey, where he worked overnight at a Whole Foods while looking after his three children.

The Sandlot actor's recent arrest has left fans and followers stunned, questioning what led to such aggression against his neighbor. As investigations continue, the focus remains on understanding the context of the incident and its repercussions on Guiry's life moving forward.
