In a heartfelt gesture, the daytime soap opera remembers their late cast member Wactor, who portrayed Brando Corbin from 2020 to 2022, with a tribute that left fans and colleagues deeply moved.

AceShowbiz - "General Hospital" concluded its June 11 episode with a touching title card in memory of Johnny Wactor, who portrayed Brando Corbin from 2020 to 2022. The card read, "In loving memory of Johnny Wactor," honoring the actor who was tragically shot and killed on May 25 at the age of 37.

Wactor's untimely death occurred following his bartending shift in Downtown Los Angeles. As he walked to his car, he encountered three armed thieves trying to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle. When Wactor approached them, the suspects opened fire, resulting in his fatal wound.

His brother, Grant Wactor, recounted the tragic event, "He came across them and he thought his truck was being towed. So he said something to the guys, like, 'Hey, are you towing?' And then once he turned around, he saw what was happening and he put his coworker behind him. And that's when they shot him."

Four days after the incident, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest and classified it as a homicide. A march is planned, and a $25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the suspects' arrests.

Alongside the emotional statements from Wactor's brother, several of his "General Hospital" colleagues also shared their grief and admiration for the late actor. Anita Joy, who was with him during his final moments, described the experience as "unimaginable" and emphasized her dedication to seeking justice.

Co-star Sofia Mattsson, who played Wactor's on-screen wife, recalled their friendship fondly, "We shared so many great memories, so many tears and laughter on and off screen. He just helps supporting everyone. He knows everyone's name. He's just friendly with everyone. He is super, super goofy. And just always made you laugh, and made you feel so comfortable and at home."

"We have a lot of lovely actors on the show, and when we lose one, it's a killer. It's just a killer," lamented Carolyn Hennesy, reflecting on the somber atmosphere on set since Wactor's passing.

Johnny Wactor's vibrant presence and genuine kindness touched many lives, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and fans alike. As the community continues to mourn, his legacy is honored by those who cherished him.
