The 'Inside Out 2' actress, who plays Robin Buckley on the smash hit Netflix series, shares her feelings on the bittersweet end of the popular sci-fi/horror show.

AceShowbiz - As the final season of "Stranger Things" draws closer, Maya Hawke reveals the emotional toll it has taken on the cast and crew. "It's already starting to be heartbreaking," Hawke said. "It's the end of a really long journey."

Despite the emotional weight, Hawke remains enthusiastic about her role as Robin Buckley, injecting joy and levity into the set. "It's a really fun thing to do," she said.

Hawke, who also voices Anxiety in Pixar's "Inside Out 2", hopes the film inspires viewers to confront their emotions with courage. "Even the emotions that don't feel as good are still here to help you," she said.

Regarding the highly anticipated "Stranger Things" finale, Hawke promises audiences will get answers to their lingering questions. "I do know what happens before then and it's extremely exciting," she said. "Questions start to be answered. I think audiences will feel that way too."

While Hawke hasn't yet read the final scripts, she echoes the sentiments of her fellow cast members that the series will conclude in an emotional and epic manner. "It's a hell of an undertaking," said co-star David Harbour. "I'm excited to wrap it up in a bold, amazing way."

Series director and executive producer Shawn Levy has hinted that the final season will rival blockbuster movies in scale while remaining true to the show's intimate character focus. "Season 5 gets bigger in scale but doesn't forget who or what it is," Levy said.
