The 'Bad Guy' hitmaker has opened up about the emotional struggles after her rise to fame, sharing how she went from losing her friends to embracing a newfound sense of companionship.

AceShowbiz - Billie Eilish, the 22-year-old pop sensation known for hits like "Ocean Eyes" and "Bad Guy," has revealed the intense loneliness she felt after skyrocketing to fame. On the BBC podcast "Miss Me?" hosted by Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver, Eilish discussed how her sudden popularity made it hard for her to relate to anyone, leading to the loss of almost all her friends.

"I lost all of my friends when I got famous," Eilish candidly explained. "I suddenly was famous and I couldn't relate to anybody. It was tough. It was really hard." She described her 20th birthday as a turning point, realizing that everyone present at the celebration was an employee who was at least 15 years older than her.

One of the most heartbreaking moments Eilish recounted was when one of her employees decided to leave, making her realize the transactional nature of many of her relationships.

"And it was the worst thing that happened to me," she admitted. "And that made me realize like 'oh wait, this is a job.' If they left me they would never see me again." This eye-opening experience contributed to her developing issues with abandonment and loss.

Despite these hard times, Billie eventually made a concerted effort to reconnect with old friends and forge new relationships. "Exactly a year ago, I reconnected with a bunch of old friends and now, I have so many friends," she shared with palpable relief.

The young artist's emotional journey came full circle when she burst into tears at Coachella, overwhelmed by the realization that she finally had friends again. "Guys, I have friends and I just love you guys so much, and it's been so long since I've had friends," she expressed emotionally.

Eilish's story is one of resilience and growth. She also took inspiration from Lily Allen's song "Smile," which helped her aspire to regain the friendship she had lost. "But with a little help from my friends, I found the light in the tunnel at the end," she quoted, reflecting on her aspirations and newfound sense of belonging.

In addition to emotional reconnection, Billie is thriving professionally. She recently released her self-directed music video for her new single "Chihiro," from her third album "Hit Me Hard and Soft." The video, which features Nat Wolff, has already garnered millions of views on YouTube.

Billie Eilish's journey from isolation to reconnection is a poignant reminder that fame can be as isolating as it is rewarding, but with effort and support, it's possible to find meaningful connections again. Her story is an inspiration for young people facing similar challenges, emphasizing the importance of persistence and emotional resilience.
