AceShowbiz - On Wednesday, June 5, Retta appeared on "Live with Kelly and Mark" to promote her film "Hit Man". While backstage, she had a serendipitous encounter with her former castmate Amy Poehler. Poehler was on set pre-recording her Friday appearance for the movie "Inside Out 2".
The pair captured their reunion in a sweet snapshot shared on the show's Instagram account. They posed alongside hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, as well as sharing a warm embrace. Ripa acknowledged the pair as "comedic legends," expressing admiration for Retta's Broadway aspirations.
Retta's Broadway aspirations became the topic of their chat. While initially denying any plans, Ripa clarified that Retta had expressed an interest on the show. Both Ripa and Poehler agreed that Retta's singing abilities would make her a perfect fit for the stage. Retta affirmed her determination to pursue Broadway, emphasizing her preference for roles with minimal dancing.
